Founded in 1937 by Dada Lekhraj, known as Brahma Baba, Brahma Kumaris teaches a form of Rajyoga stripped of posture, ritual, and physical technique altogether — a meditation practiced with open eyes, resting attention on the nature of the self as consciousness rather than body. The organization has grown into a United Nations-accredited body, holding General Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council since 1983, and is active in more than 140 countries.
All Here first connected with Brahma Kumaris on UN International Yoga Day 2025, when Sister Jayanti, the Additional Administrative Head of Brahma Kumaris, visited All Here in Geneva together with Sister Philippa Blackham and Sister Gopi. There, the group meditated while their brain activity was recorded, and the two organizations signed a joint statement to inspire more people to integrate meditation into daily life. This meeting led to a formal research collaboration, beginning with a visit to the Global Retreat Centre in Oxford, where All Here conducted Quantified Meditation sessions with residents each morning at 4:00 am.
The relationship continued when Prof. Christoph Michel, Chief Neuroscientific Director at All Here, joined Sister Jayanti and Brahma Kumaris France in Paris to mark the second annual United Nations-recognized World Meditation Day, bringing EEG-based science into direct dialogue with the tradition's teachings on the mind. Our collaboration with Brahma Kumaris continues today.
