From Hollywood to Skid Row: What a Week in LA Taught Us About Stability of Mind

From Hollywood to Skid Row: What a Week in LA Taught Us About Stability of Mind
28 Jul 2026

Los Angeles, California — All Here’s visit to Los Angeles this month crystallized something we have witnessed around the world: no matter the background or circumstance, the need for stability of mind is universal.

At The Midnight Mission and A Community of Friends, we meditated alongside people rebuilding their lives from homelessness and addiction. At The Art of Elysium, we opened our Quantified Meditation System™ to established LA creatives — actors, producers, musicians — measuring their practice in real time.

Quantified Meditation Sessions in Action

At The Art of Elysium, long-time meditators saw their practice in an entirely new light. Using our Quantified Meditation System™ and Brain-Computer Interface (BCI), participants watched their brain activity visualized in real time.

Across the week, 21 participants received their first Quantified Meditation™ Report — a scientific window into their own meditation practice. Three reached Quantified Meditation Index scores above 300, a level associated with deep meditative absorption.

We also introduced All Here’s QM Training method: short, repeatable rounds — typically three to five minutes — built to help the mind achieve and sustain a stable state on demand, prioritizing quality of attention over duration. For one longtime daily meditator, three minutes brought more structure than his usual twenty. For another, who had stepped away from a thirty-minute daily practice, described the approach as a way back into meditation.

Meeting People Where They Are

At The Midnight Mission and A Community of Friends on Skid Row, we practiced alongside people rebuilding their lives after challenges with homelessness, mental health, and addiction.

We found that whether we were sitting with artists, community leaders, or people rebuilding their lives, we encountered the same human reality: in a world of constant distraction, people everywhere are searching for greater stability of mind.

Looking Ahead

The week was made possible in partnership with The Art of Elysium, and closed with an evening celebrating the creative community that helped bring it to life. Conversations throughout the week evolved into ideas for future collaborations — from scientific research and creative projects to new ways of making practices that cultivate stability of mind accessible to wider communities.

We’re grateful for everything this week made possible, and energized by what it confirmed: when people are given the tools, real change follows.

Have you ever tried to build a meditation practice and given up? What got in the way?
