Inside the Quantified Attention Challenge: How Three Corporate Executives Are Training Their Attention

Inside the Quantified Attention Challenge: How Three Corporate Executives Are Training Their Attention
15 Sep 2026

Geneva, Switzerland — What if the most competitive edge in business is the ability to sustain and direct attention — the real driver of meaningful work — in a modern world designed to fragment it?

For three business executives who recently took part in the World Meditation League's Quantified Attention Challenge, training their attention through meditation has been an inflection point in how they lead and perform in the corporate world.

Challengers: Meditation changes how we do business

The Challenge took place at the ENLIGHTEN Leadership Summit at the Geneva Polo Club, where the executives meditated live while their brain activity was streamed before an audience. All Here's technology captured it all — every flicker of distraction, every moment of stabilized attention, tracked in real time.

After the event, the Challengers spoke to the audience about the skills that have emerged from their practices and how they use them in the corporate world.

Romain Duvergé, a private banker with Syz Group, said: "You change completely the interaction when compassion comes in, you make completely different investment decisions and that's a game-changer."

For Raphaël Sergi, Chief Risk Officer at MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, meditation is what keeps him grounded under pressure. The practice, he said, can "calm the nervous system, sharpen attention, and support emotional regulation" — and, ultimately, helps him "keep the abilities I've developed [and access them] under pressure."

Enrique Alvarado Hablützel, an investor with Helvora, explained that his practice has helped build "the connection with myself first, and with others," cultivating empathy for how people come into meetings and clarity about what they're there to achieve.

The Challenge offered a look at something rarely examined. Companies invest resources in people, technology, and information. But the quality of return on those investments depends on each person's ability to work with sustained attention and presence.

Attention may be the most underrated competitive edge in business today and we are demonstrating what it looks like when you deliberately train it.
