✨ A meaningful step in our journey of understanding meditation
Recently, our team visited Ananda Village in Nevada City, near Sacramento, California, where we had the rare privilege of conducting EEG recordings with highly experienced practitioners following the teachings of Yogananda—an opportunity few scientists ever encounter.
We are profoundly grateful to the community leaders for entrusting us with their most seasoned practitioners—a level of openness and trust we deeply value.

Mapping the Neural Fingerprint of Paramhansa Yogananda
What truly stood out was the practitioners’ unwavering engagement during the recordings. Many of the sessions lasted nearly two hours—an extraordinary display of dedication and generosity. For our research, such sustained recordings are invaluable, offering a continuous window into the evolving dynamics of meditation.

The Heart of the Community
Beyond the recordings, what moved us most was the spirit of the community — a living example of meditation as more than an individual practice. It is cultivated, supported, and embodied together, with a shared intention toward clarity, stability, and inner growth— expressed not only in practice, but throughout daily life.
🙏 A heartfelt thank you to the teachers and practitioners for their trust, time, and generosity.
These interactions remind us that the meeting between science and contemplative traditions is not merely about measurement—but about dialogue, respect, and mutual learning.

We look forward to continuing this exploration—and invite fellow meditation communities from all traditions and like-minded researchers to connect with us.
Let’s explore how science can honor, support, and deepen contemplative practices—together.
