Dr. Lionel Newman Presents Research on Meditative Brainwaves at Alpine Brain Imaging Meeting
21 Jan 2025

On January 16, 2025, Dr. Lionel Newman – one of All Here’s neuroscientists – delivered a well-received presentation at the 19th Alpine Brain Imaging Meeting, organised by University of Geneva in Champéry, Switzerland. This annually recurring conference attracts leading scientists from around the globe to explore the latest developments in brain imaging.

In his talk, titled “Alpha Suppression as a Marker of Meditative Depth: Expertise-Driven Variations in EEG Alpha Power”, Dr. Newman shared new insights into how brainwave patterns may shift with increasing meditation experience. Leveraging EEG-based data, his research highlights the role of alpha power changes in indicating deeper meditative states.

The presentation generated significant interest, prompting attendees to engage in lively discussions during the subsequent poster session. Many were keen to learn more about Dr. Newman’s study and All Here’s broader research initiatives.

Dr. Newman’s talk was a resounding success and represents another step forward in All Here’s ongoing effort to better understand – and enhance – the science of meditation.
