Meditation Neuroscience at ISCR 2025

Meditation Neuroscience at ISCR 2025
14 11月 2025

Our meditation research team presented All Here’s latest findings at the International Society for Contemplative Research (ISCR) 3rd Annual Conference, held November 3-6, 2025, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill—a premier international forum for rigorous, interdisciplinary investigation of contemplative practices.

…………

Representing the All Here Meditation Institute and WML, Dr. Chuong Ngo, Director of Meditation Research, and Dr. Lionel Newman, EEG Neuroscientist, shared novel findings:

  • Reduction of mind-wandering and regulation of self-awareness in meditation: Microstate analysis in novice and expert meditators
  • EEG alpha suppression and enhanced slow-waves in expert meditators during differing practices
  • Tokyo Quantified Meditation Challenge: Enter the era where meditation becomes a quantifiable achievement. An event organized by WML × All Here in October 2025

………..

The open, cross-disciplinary atmosphere of ISCR fostered rich exchanges with scientists, scholars, teachers, and practitioners at the forefront of contemplative research.

Live demonstrations of All Here’s Quantified Meditation System (QMS) drew consistent interest throughout the conference.  Our system displays the Concentration and Mindfulness Index in real time during meditation, derived from high-resolution EEG and electrical dynamic neuroimaging. Conference attendees queued to try the system, with many expressing interest in learning more and exploring future collaboration.

……….

We were delighted that Daniel Ingram, a well-known meditation teacher, joined us to test the system and experience his brain activity visualized in real time. It was equally inspiring to welcome leading scientists — Matthew Sacchet, David Vago, Nicco Reggente, and others — who observed the live sessions and engaged in thoughtful discussions with our team about the science and technologies advancing meditation research.

The conference’s interdisciplinary setting also facilitated dialogues with VR researchers developing immersive meditation environments, with discussions centering on Zenbu Koko, All Here’s mixed-reality meditation capsule recently unveiled in Tokyo .

……….

These encounters underscore how All Here Meditation Institute continues to advance its mission to Inspire to Meditate with Science and Technology.
